Balloon Fiesta Transportation

FAQ’s

Question: How long will I be at each event?

 • You’ll be at each event (morning event or evening event) for about 3 hours.  We depart the Park at 9:30AM and at 8:30PM to go back to the hotels.

Question: Why should I use this service?

• We have a pass that allows us to use roads that are closed to passenger cars.  No traffic!  This closed route allows us to move into and out of Balloon Fiesta Park with ease. • We hand you the general admission ticket (no extra step to buy a ticket and a savings of $2) and  • We have a caring and entertaining staff that take care of you along the way!

Question: How long does it take to get to the Park and back?

• Between 20 and 40 minutes, depending on if you are on the first stop or the last stop on the route.  From the closest hotels to the Park (the Pyramid Marriott and the Courtyard Marriott) we averaged 8-12 minutes to get in last year.  We average 20-30 minutes to drop off at all hotels after each event too.

Question: I’m looking at the Balloon Fiesta map of the Park at www.AIBF.org    Where does your service drop-off and pick-up?

On the left side of the map you’ll see a black oval marked “Transit Area”.  That is our drop-off and pick-up point.

Question: Why does it cost $38 for adults and why are 6-12 year olds $18 and 5 and under free?

We offer exceptional value and customer service.  The $38 includes 1) the general admission ticket at a $2 discount 2) the transportation which is typically a motor coach 3) tax 4) the tour guide  and #5) don’t forget about that speedy route! The guide checks people in at each location and then answers questions en route.  Balloon Fiesta does not require a ticket for people 12 and younger: we charge just $18 for kids.  For children who are 5 and younger, who sit on laps and do not require a seat, they are free into the Park AND FREE on our transportation too.

Question: Is there food at Balloon Fiesta Park?  Yes and lots of types of food also.

Question: Do the vendors take credit cards? Yes almost half have card processing capabilities.

Question: What else is there to do there?

There are typically over 100 vendors that line the balloon field.  They sell a variety of foods typically found in a state-fair-type-setting.  They sell every type of ballooning souvenir you can imagine.  There are exhibits too, like the rock climbing wall, the chainsaw carvers and the discovery balloon tent as well as entertainment like strolling Mariachis and other live bands.  The Anderson-Abruzzo Albuquerque International Balloon Museum is located at the Park too and is open in the early morning.

Question: How are the morning events and the evening events different?

The balloons lift off and fly during the morning ascensions.  Typically over 550 will launch between 7AM – 8:30AM.  There’s no easy way to describe a mass ascension, you just gotta go!   In the evening the balloons do not fly, they are tethered and use their “glow burners” to illuminate the balloon.  Glow events are a great time to meet the pilots and wander throughout the field and socialize. Glows have fast become the most popular, why? Because you don’t have to wake before dawn (for one reason).

Question: Can I stay at Balloon Fiesta Park all day?

Yes you can.  Some of our passengers have stayed all day and they told us that a lot of the vendors took a break mid-day, there were practically no other visitors besides them in the Park by mid-day and they did end up spending a good amount of time in the beer tent waiting for the evening events to begin.  We charge $68 for all-day service, we need to hold a seat for you for two events and you’ll only require one admission ticket.
